Laddie Anton Hornak, 82, of Houston, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019.

Laddie was born in Fayetteville on Aug. 10, 1936, the son of Lad and Martha (Kulhanek) Hornak. He married Beatrice Kathryn Zbranek on June 25, 1955 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Industry. Laddie remained a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Industry.

He worked as a Fireman for the City of Houston for over 20 years before his retirement. He also worked as a driver for funeral homes in the Houston area for many years.

Laddie is survived by daughter, Yvonne Nichols and husband, Jon David, of Baytown; brother, Richard Hornak of Fayetteville; daughter-in-law, Peggy Hornak of Houston; four grandchildren: Melanie Hornak and husband, Angel Lopez; Emilie Arkin and husband, David; Buckie and Bobbie Nichols; and numerous great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beatrice; son, Gordon Hornak and daughter, Yvette Hornak.

Visitation was held on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 12 to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Zaskoda Chapel in Industry. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Industry at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. Burial will follow at the Immaculate Catholic Cemetery in Industry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Houston Firefighter Association Charitable Foundation (http://www.houstonsbravest.org).
