A Day Trip to Shiner

South of Flatonia and Moulton and across the prairie lies a magical land where beer is made - Shiner.

To that place four thirsty companions traveled on recent Saturday.

The best time to go is during the week, when the Spoetzl Brewery comes to life. Since no workers were there, we didn’t take the tour. We just came for the free beer.

Our fellow pilgrims that day included young couples with baby strollers, older couples with their parents in wheelchairs, bikers, cowboys, hippies and even one elected official from La Grange.
