Leps Win, Now On Verge of Playoff Berth

Timely hitting from a freshman and a gutsy pitching performance from a senior combined to lead La Grange to a 3-2 baseball victory over Smithville at home Monday.

“The last few games we were finding ways to lose, tonight we found a way to scratch out one more run than the other team,” said La Grange head coach Robert Barber, whose team is on the verge of a playoff berth.

“I’m proud of the kids, the way they battled. It wasn’t everybody’s best but it was enough to get the win.”
