Kallus
Mildred A. Kallus, 84, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on Nov. 17, 1934, in Weimar to Reinhardt and Adela Schneider, and graduated from Weimar High School in 1952. Mildred lived in Houston, with her husband of almost 63 years, Anton P. Kallus, Jr.
Mildred was a long time active member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, active in the Altar Society and the K.J.Z.T. In past years, she and Anton enjoyed traveling across the United States on bus tours. She enjoyed monthly birthday and holiday get-togethers with her husband and their three children and their families.
Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Helen Zimmermann, and her brotherin-law, Franklin Zimmermann.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Anton; two sisters, Virginia Kroboth and husband Johnie, of Houston, and Agnes Laake and husband Paul, of Columbus. Mildred is also survived by her son, David Kallus and wife Brenda, her daughter Brenda Montemayor, her daughter Joyce Johnson and husband Mike, and seven grandchildren, James A. Montemayor, Mark Montemayor, Emily Johnson, Kristin Johnson, Shelly Kallus, Ty Smith, Kyle Smith and wife Jessica, and two great-grandchildren Noah and Abel Smith, all of Houston.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Waltrip Funeral Directors in Houston.
