Walla

Lillian Margaret (Kolenovsky) Walla passed away peacefully on April 25, 2019, at the age of 85.

Lillian was born on July 13, 1933 at home near the Brushy Community to Emil and Albina (Janish) Kolenovsky. She married Frank Walla on Oct. 17, 1951 in Fayetteville.

She was a homemaker and loved quilting and reading. Lillian worked as a nurse’s aide and ward clerk at Fayette Memorial Hospital and then St. Mark’s Medical Center for 35 years. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Plum, Texas. Lillian was also a longtime member of St. Anne Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Annunciation No. 1962 and the KJZT.

She is survived by three sons: Ronald Walla and wife, Claudia, of Brenham; Richard Walla and wife, Amy, of Cypress; David Walla and wife, Kathy, of West Point; two daughters: Susan Cherry and husband, Chris, of West Point; Linda Svrcek and husband, Brian, of La Grange; ten grandchildren: Colten and Dalton Walla; Jonathan Walla and wife, Melissa; Jordan Walla; Michael Cherry; Elizabeth Cherry and friend, Chase Fielder; Phillip Cherry; Rachel Negrete and husband, Guillermo; Wyatt Watson and friend, Amy Crumley; and Carson Svrcek; four great grandchildren: Lilliana Negrete; Avery, Emery and Amelia Walla; two sisters: Alice Malota and Clara Susen; one brother, Jerry Kolenovsky and wife, Charlene; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; brother, Lad Kolenovsky; two sisters: Claudia Ogden and Annie Belota.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 12 to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Plum at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2019. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lillian’s memory to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 126 Plum Church Rd., Plum, TX 78952 or to the charity of one’s choice.
