Moravia Store Celebrates Turning 130

Moravia Store has turned 130 years old, and this Saturday, May 4, owners Henrietta and Franklin Filip invite everyone to the store for a big celebration including an exhibition by the South Texas Wheel Turners and Crank Twisters Club and music by Mark Halata and Texavia.

Henrietta sat down with the Record last week to reminisce about the store’s history.

“It was a post office for a while, a meat market, a blacksmith shop, and of course, a dancehall and beer joint,” She said.
