Atop a Horse from Fayette County, Girl From Rosanky Wins State Title

Devin Young of Rosanky competed in the 2019 Texas Junior High Rodeo Association Finals in Gonzales, TX May 27th - June 1st and came out on top as the 2019 Texas Junior High Rodeo State Champion Barrel Racer.

Devin, the daughter of Tab and Amanda Young is a 6th grader at Smithville Junior High School. She is a Region 6 member who qualified for the State Finals in barrel racing and pole bending. At the finals, she competed against the top 10 from each 10 regions from across the state of Texas. She and her horse Tequila made it through three rounds of tough competition winning the average and ranking them as the number one Texas Junior High Barrel Racer.
