CDA Hosts Fr. Dan, Bids Farewell to Fr. Matthew
La Grange Catholic Daughters of America, Court Annunciation No. 1962, held their monthly meeting on Memorial Day, May 27. In keeping with the theme of Memorial Day and honoring all the military men and women, Fr. Dan Kahlich who served as a Reserve Chaplain, was the guest speaker.
His topic was the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). The AMS was created to provide the Catholic Church’s full range of pastoral ministries and spiritual services to those in the United States Armed Forces. The government provides chapels for the AMS, with financial support for the Chaplains and their services coming from Mass collections with the primary support coming from outside donations.
The chaplains cover a large territory with bases located throughout the world and the many V.A. Medical Centers they visit. The Catholic Daughters are looking to support the AMS at both the state and local level. Visit their website www.milarch.org for more information.
