Speed Family Reunion Held in Muldoon

Speed Reunion

The 70th annual Speed family reunion was a great success. The attendance was up with family members from all over Texas and even Oklahoma, with the farthest distance being Wichita Falls, all making the trek to come to Muldoon to celebrate being part of the Speed family. Descendants of Tom, Bob and Frank Speed gathered at the Muldoon Mercantile for a fun- and food-filled time of checking out what everyone has been up to, making new acquaintances and renewing old family ties. There were generations of Speed descendants from a toddler of one to a senior citizen of 88 in attendance this year. Many of the family members were local and just enjoyed finding out what everyone else has been up to. The Speeds are a diverse family with everyone from a doctor to a lawyer and everything in between.

Following the main gathering of the family at the Muldoon Mercantile, many family members traveled around to the area cemeteries to visit the graves of various Speed family members who have passed on. Then they ended up at Speed Ranch on Speed Lane to enjoy visiting the original family home, the place where it all started. Next year’s gathering will be on June 13.
