A Walk Through the Hospital
Last Thursday when a lot of people were going to the polls, I went instead to the hospital. I had voted early. So on election day, as people were casting their ballots to decide the fate of a proposed hospital taxing district that would have funded the financially struggling hospital, I decided to go to the site of the place that has caused so much heated discussion over the last few months. The nice ladies at the front counter asked me if I needed any help when I walked in. I told them thanks, but no I did not. I know my way around. My wife and I had three sons born at St. Mark’s. The place where many members of your family take their first breaths does indeed hold a special place in one’s heart. Four years after he was born, the appendix of one of our boys ruptured, and his life was saved by the excellent work done at St. Mark’s, including emergency surgery by Dr. Russell Juno.
