Schmidt

Alton Herbert Schmidt, 91, passed away on July 7, 2019 at his farm in Industry.

He was born on May 17, 1928, the son of Karl and Therese Schmidt.

Alton is survived by his two sons: Alvis Schmidt, and wife, Nola of Nacogdoches; and Douglas Schmidt, and wife, Vicki of Caldwell; six grandchildren: Chief Warrant Officer Two C. Nolan Bendon, and wife, Niah of Baumholder, Germany; Jennifer Schmidt, and Bryant Kuntz of Montoursville, Pa.; David Schmidt of Nacogdoches; Christina Pettit, and husband, Jonathan of Centerville; Douglas Burns, and wife, Laura of Kingsville; David Burns, and wife, Jennifer of Caldwell; eleven great grandchildren: Karlie, Emory and Carolyn Bendon; Joshua, Madelyn and Abigail Pettit; Laramie, Ryan, Samantha, Jillian and Wyatt Burns.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Florine who passed away in 2015; five brothers; and one sister.

Visitation was held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations Zaskoda Chapel in Industry.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 6814 Skull Creek Road, Shelby, at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2019. Burial will follow in the Shelby Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post 602 in Shelby, Texas.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange.
