Lila Annette (Benoit) East, 78, of La Grange, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.

Lila was born in Orange, Texas on Jan. 9, 1941, to Lee and Ailene (Brooks) Benoit.

She worked as a Sterilization Technician. Her career started with West Cal-Cam in Louisiana and continued at Fayette Memorial Hospital and St. Marks Medical Center until her retirement in 2005.

She was a wonderful cook and provided beautifully prepared meals for her family. One of her passions was her love for flowers. As a grandmother, she had a special bond with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lila is survived by three daughters: Beverly Fowler and husband, Kenny; Sharon Jasek and husband, Johnny; Pam Washington and husband, Thomas Martin, all of La Grange; sister, Eleanor Lyons and husband, Shorty, of Hackberry, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Faye Benoit of Riverside, Texas; five grandchildren: Joey Jasek and wife, Ashley, of Warrenton; Aaron East and wife, Lorin, of San Marcos; Drew Washington wife, Tosha, of La Grange; Marty Fowler and wife, Brooke, of Bastrop; Robby Martin of La Grange; four great grandsons: Justin and Ace Jasek; AJ Sammy and Izzy Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dale Edward Wright, grandson, Justin Jasek and brother, Ray Benoit.

A Celebration of Lila’s life will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home and Cremations.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to a charity of one’s choice.
