A teenager from Weimar who went missing last week has been found in Mexico.

According to Weimar Police Chief Todd Jacobs, 17-wear-old Erick Ralda Ramirez was last seen walking east along Interstate 10 in Weimar between 2 and 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10. Jacobs said his mother later reported him missing. Jacobs said Ramirez lived in town with his mother.

“We don’t suspect there is any foul play,” Jacobs told the Record on Tuesday morning, July 16, while the youth was still missing.

“As far as we can tell, he left his residence of his own free will,” Jacobs added. “Since he is 17, he is not considered a runaway.”

By Tuesday afternoon, Weimar Police used social media to determine that Ramirez had traveled to Mexico. Jacobs said the youth was with family and friends across the southern border. Jacobs declined to disclose why Ramirez left his mother’s home.
