Triple Threat: LG’s DelaRosa Sisters Blaze a Trail in Softball
As soon as you hear the name DelaRosa, right off the bat you think softball. Alyssa, 16, Abigail, 14 and Anabella, 8 all share a love for softball. All together they have played well over 1,000 games.
Alyssa plays 2nd base, shortstop and outfielder, but her favorite position is middle infielder. She says, “I stuck with softball over all the other sports because I enjoy how the game is played, it’s more mental and nobody believed I would be good enough to play.” Well she has proved many wrong by winning multiple trophies and medals. She even was named MVP by another team when she did a diving catch during a play and has made an in the park grand slam. She hasn’t escaped injury though. She has fractured both arms and her most painful play was when she dove head first stealing third base and heard a loud pop and found out she broke her elbow. She hopes to soon play softball for the University of Oklahoma and she would love to become a coach or have some type of career in athletics.
