Florida Man Found Dead in a Ditch in Schulenburg

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reported that his department is investigating the death of a 60-year-old man from Florida who was found in a ditch near Interstate 10 on Tuesday, July 23.

Brenek said officers received a 911 call around 7:45 p.m. reporting a body in a ditch near the intersection of East Avenue and Huser Blvd. Officers arrived at the location and located the deceased man, identified as 60-year-old Ricky Turner of Florida.

“The cause of death is still unknown at this time and the Schulenburg Police Department is actively investigating it,” Brenek said in a statement issued Wednesday morning.
