McKenzie Murder Trial Exposing Lots of Details
New details about the 2013 stabbing death of Sandra Pfeiffer emerged this week as the Derrick McKenzie capital murder trial got underway.
State prosecutors Tina Richardson and Sharon Pruitt, along with Fayette County Attorney Peggy Supak, questioned three witnesses as of Tuesday afternoon, July 23. The bulk of the testimony in the first two days came from Texas Ranger Brent Barina, the lead investigator on the case.
Pfeiffer was found stabbed to death on June 17, 2013, at the home of her boyfriend, Raymond “Rusty” McKenzie, who is Derrick McKenzie’s uncle. The home is located along a private driveway off SH 71 Bypass near Truesdale Road just outside La Grange.
