Portia Lynn (Jones) Parker, 70, of Flatonia, formerly of La Grange passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 20, 2019.

Portia was born in Williamsboro, La. on June 24, 1949, the daughter of James Douglas and Edna (Barfield) Jones.

She married the love of her life, James “Jim” Parker, on February 6, 1975 in Conroe. Portia enjoyed spending her time crafting. She also treasured time she had spent with her sisters and cousins whom she loved so dearly.

Portia is survived by her loving husband, Jim, of 44 years; son, James Edwin Parker, and wife, Rondi of Willis; four sisters: Sherry Williams of Willis; Judy Jones of Houston; Kathy Lee of Trinity; and Tammy Parrish and her son, Kody Parker of Montgomery; four brothersin-law: Doug Parker and wife, Mary Ann; Bill Parker and wife, Linda; Glenn Parker and wife, Vicki; and Mike Parker and wife, Melinda; mother-in-law, Velma Parker; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Brandon Parker.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Colony Cemetery in Flatonia.
