County’s Proposed $25 Million Budget Passes First Hurdle

Fayette County Commissioners approved the proposed budget for next year at a meeting last Wednesday, July 31.

Commissioners will vote for final approval after a pair of public hearings on the new tax rate set for Aug. 15 and Aug. 19.

The proposed budget includes approximately $25.295 million in revenue and about 24.735 million in expenses. County Judge Joe Weber pushed for increased reserve funds during budget negotiations this year. The proposed budget leaves an end-of-year balance of $560,434.
