Mary Jane (Muesse) Treybig, 82, of Fayetteville passed away on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019.

Mary Jane was born near Oldenburg in Fayette County on April 8, 1937, the daughter of Elo R. and Kristina (Chovanec) Muesse.

She was baptized on April 28, 1937. Mary Jane graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1955 where she played girls’ basketball, volleyball and was cheerleader for the boy’s teams.

On July 10, 1955, she married the love of her life and dance partner for the next 54 years and 10 months, Cleward Treybig, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville, Texas. They moved to Houston where he worked. They made many friends and had a wonderful life. They returned often to Fayette County to visit family and attend dances.

After many years as a homemaker and babysitting her grandchildren and others in her home, she took a job at Spring Branch Bowling Lanes. She also worked at Cordovan Publishing and National Flange.

Mary Jane served as an officer in her local Civics Club, KJZT, her bowling league, her sons’ Little League and started the first girl’s Softball League in Spring Branch.

She enjoyed sewing, playing volleyball through her 40’s, bowling, playing dominos, traveling, sightseeing, riding a 4-wheeler with her great-grandkids and even deer hunted with her granddaughter. At the age of 75, she learned backing up a trailer hauling hay.

Mary Jane and Cleward established their home back in Fayette County in 1988. As was her way, she became active in Sons of Hermann, Redhatters, Walhalla Club and Rutersville Cemetery Association. She worked at Lutherhill where she spoiled the children with her cooking. She also worked at La Grange I.S.D and Festival Hill.

She is survived by four children: Donna Foehr and husband, W.G. “Bubba”, of Waller; Donald Treybig of Fayetteville; Darla Treybig of Houston; and Duane Treybig of Houston; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren: Chad and Krystal Treybig, Taylor, Cade and Gage of Willis; Dawn Coufal and Logan of Sealy; Kasi and Reed Voorheis, Nicholas and Drew of Bellville; Kevin and Lauryn Treybig, Addyson and Jensyn of Houston; Kristina and Wacey Buro of Warrenton; William Foehr and Prezleigh of Waller; step-granddaughters: Holly and Mike Maloney, Seth and Aidan of Buda; Holly Inez and Nathan Engelson, Gabriel, Cheyenne, Vanessa, Emmett and Charlotte of Nesselle, Washington; Autumn Mott and Madison of Longview, Wash.; one brother, Abe Muesse and wife, Barbara, of Fayetteville; one sister-in-law, Sylvia Franke and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

She was preceded in death by husband, Cleward; first born son, Douglas Treybig; parents, Elo and Kristina Muesse; brother, Frank Muesse and wife, Shirley; daughter-in-law, Ginger Treybig; and granddaughter; Traci Renee Foehr.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral Services were held at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home in La Grange at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019. Burial followed at Rutersville Cemetery.
