When the Schools Are the Ones Being Graded

All Fayette Co. Schools Pass State’s Latest Accountability Rankings, but There’s Room for Improvement

Texas Education Agency released the state’s 2019 A-F School Accountability Report Cards earlier this month.

All public schools in the county made a passing grade, although some performed better than others. The Record reached out to each superintendent in the county for their thoughts on the results and the accountability system in general.

La Grange ISD

TEA gave La Grange ISD a reprieve from the grades last year due to the effects of Hurricane Harvey the year before. Officially, the district received a rating of “not rated.” However, TEA did give the district unofficial number grades. The district went from an unofficial 84 last year to an official B+ this year with an 89.
