Weimar Wins Rivalry Game Over Schulenburg

The Schulenburg Shorthorns lost to their archrival, the Weimar Wildcats, 27-9 at home Friday night, Sept. 6.

The Horns had few answers for Weimar’s aggressive 3-3 stack defense, which held Schulenburg to just 50 yards on the ground. Shorthorn quarterback Brett Janecek managed to throw for 119 yards and one touchdown despite scrambling much of the night. He also gave up one interception. 

The Wildcats backed up their defense with an effective running game led by senior running back Ravon’Dre Wicks. Wicks ran for 145 yards, averaging 9 yards a carry. He scored one rushing touchdown and another on a 57 yard reception, his only catch of the night.
