Steele

Donald “Don” Steele, 82, of La Grange, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019.

Don was born in Fredonia, Kan. on Feb. 20, 1937, the son of Melvin and Delpha (Scott) Steele.

In 1949, Don and his family migrated to Colton, California. Here Don and his siblings grew up and started their new lives. Don met his lovely childhood sweetheart, Janet in high school, and was married in 1957. Don and Jan lived out the better part of their lives working and raising their family in Southern California. In 1997, Don and Jan retired and became the owners of an RV and hit the road. Over the next nine years they traveled the highways and backroads of our beautiful nation. During this time, period they found a winter home at Colorado River Landing in La Grange, Texas. Don being an avid fisherman and hunter, this fit his needs well. When Don and Jan finished traveling the highways in 2005, they decided to settle in La Grange.

He is survived by three lovely daughters; Christy, Robin and Lisa. Don is also survived by his brother, Tom Steele of Wichita, Kan.; sister, Joyce Steele of Colton, Calif.; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Jan, in 2018.

Don is well loved by all and will be truly missed. We feel he is now with loved ones who have gone before him, and they will be waiting our arrival. God Bless Brother and go with God.
