18-Wheeler Crashes Into Yard Monday

An 18-wheeler crashed into a residential yard near the corner of FM 609 and FM 2436 (the Hostyn Cutoff) Monday afternoon.

The accident happened shortly after 3 p.m. as a rain shower fell in the area. Trooper April Galvan-Usher of the Texas Department of Public Safety investigated the accident. Usher’s report stated that 39-year-old Marcos A. Jimenez Gonzalez of Dale was driving a white 2006 Volvo truck pulling a dump trailer. The rig was heading north on FM 609 in the rain. Usher said the truck and trailer were “traveling at an unsafe speed for the weather conditions as they entered a curve.”
