Zwernemann

Funeral services for Shirley Zwernemann, 74, of Houston were held 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top with Pastor Marcia Kifer officiating. Burial followed in Richters Cemetery in Round Top.

Shirley was born on Oct. 19, 1944 to the late Saddis and Ira Bell (Dippel) Wagner in Carmine.

While attending high school, Shirley met the love of her life, Ronald Edward Zwernemann. The two were married on Nov. 7, 1964 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dime Box. They welcomed their first son, Troy Lynn Zwernemann, on March 11, 1966 in Bryan and welcomed their second son, Shannon Boyd Zwernemann, on Feb. 2, 1968 in Houston.

Shirley passed away on Sept. 17, 2019 in Houston after a short but very courageous battle with Glioblastoma.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ronald Edward Zwernemann of Houston; her youngest son, Shannon Zwernemann and his wife Debra Zwernemann of Houston; grandson, Derek Zwernemann and his wife Ellie Zwernemann of Hockley; granddaughter, Sadie Zwernemann of Houston; great grandson, Jensen Zwernemann of Hockley; brothers, Wayne Wagner and his wife Pearlie of Round Top and Glen Wagner and his wife Lucy of Giddings; sister-in-law, Darlene Beisert and her husband Martin of Dime Box; brother-inlaw, Dennis Zwernemann and his wife Wanda of Austin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
