Miller

Nathan Ross Miller, 55, of Topeka, Kan. passed away August 28, 2019. He was an equipment technician-distributor for Ready Ice. Ross was born July 31, 1964 in Houston.

Nathan was a member of the First Methodist Church in Houston.

He is preceded in death by his father, Wiley Lynn Miller, Sr.

Survivors include his mother, Betty Sanders and father, Arthur F. Sanders, Jr. of Rosanky; one sister, Quynhthy Bui Marosi (Peter) and children, Mathis and Lucas, all of Houston.

Visitation began at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home Flatonia with Pastor Jeff Muehl officiating. Burial followed in the Colony Cemetery.

Alston

Raymond “Bubba” Alston passed away comfortably and peacefully on Sept. 24, 2019, after a long battle with cancer.

Bubba was born on Sept. 10, 1951 to Joanne and Ray Alston. He attended Mae Smith Elementary, Southmore Junior High, and graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in January 1971. He served as an apprentice of Pipefitters Local Union 211, a member of OCAW and worked at Shell Refinery from 1978 to 2008.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Susie; his daughter Sarah, her husband Trey Miller, and their children Addy and James; his brother Jerry Alston and his wife Patty; his sister Patty Ann and her husband Mike Sabo; his sister Cindy Alston; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Bubba was loved for his sense of humor and for being a great friend to many. He will be deeply missed.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.

Ziese

Dorothy Ziese, 93, of Brenham, passed away on Sept. 25, 2019.

Visitation was held Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019, from 4 pm until 6 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019, at 3 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church.
