Weimar Edges Flatonia in Battle of Unbeatens

The Weimar Wildcats won the Highway 90 rivalry game against the Flatonia Bulldogs Friday night, 19-7.

Both teams possess strong running games, and both came into the match 5-0. But the Bulldogs had to play without their star running back, Dakory Willis, who suffered an injury the week prior.

Weimar took the lead 6-0 in the first quarter with a touchdown by running back Ravon’Dre Wicks. Flatonia answered with a touchdown drive that ended 26 seconds before halftime. They led the game 7-6 into the fourth quarter, due in large part to the Bulldog defense, which forced Weimar to grind out the game a few yards at a time. The Bulldog defense sputtered in the fourth quarter, allowing Weimar to score twice, which put the game out of reach for the Bulldogs.
