Sheriff Korenek Says He’s Switching Political Parties

Sheriff Keith Korenek told the Record last week that he plans to run for re-election as a Republican next year. Korenek has served as a Democrat since winning his first election in 2004.

“My views have changed some, but I think the party has changed quite a bit from what it used to be,” Korenek said of his switch.

Korenek said he believes voters should consider job performance rather than political affiliation.
