Locals Prepping to Perform Midsummer Night’s Dream
O What Fools These Mortals Be! – Such is the mischievous Puck’s observation about almost everyone in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” William Shakespeare’s popular comedy, in which lovers randomly fall in and out of love in a fairyland where confusion and transformation reign. The play is the fall offering of the Fayette County Community Theater and it is co-directed by Jim (Doc) Ayres and Shyla Hungerford. Dr. Ayres is renown in Texas theater; he is the celebrated founder of Shakespeare at Winedale and has taught and directed Shakespeare for over fifty years. Public performances will be at the La Grange Historic Casino Hall and are scheduled for Friday, November 1, at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2, at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, November 3, at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for general admission. Students pay $5.
