National Study Says Fayette ‘Least Obese’ County in Texas

A report recently published by the financial news organization 24/7 Wall St. identified Fayette County as the least obese county in Texas.

Researchers used data from the Centers for Disease Control on the number of obese adults (defined as having a body mass index of at least 30.0) to determine the least obese county in each state.

They found an obesity rate of 20.5 percent in Fayette County, compared to the state average of 30.1 percent. Only 15 other counties on the list had a lower obesity rate than Fayette’s
