City Manager Of Flatonia Leaving For Kingsville Job

Flatonia City Manager Mark McLaughlin announced on Wednesday, Oct. 30, that he will resign at the end of November. He has taken a position as city manager of Kingsville.

McLaughlin told the Record that he begins his new job on Dec. 2. McLaughlin was the base commander at Naval Air Station Kingsville prior to retiring from the Navy and coming to Flatonia in April 2016.

“I have a lot of friends in Kingsville,” McLaughlin said. “I commanded the base down there for three years and I also commanded a squadron there before that. Kingsville has been part of life, part of my career and part of my family’s upbringing.”
