Carolyn Ruth (Vyvjala) Gilbert, 70, of La Grange, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019.

Carolyn was born in La Grange on July 6, 1949, the daughter of Albert Julius Vyvjala and Minnie Elizabeth (Karstedt) Vyvjala-Bell.

Carolyn married Loyd E. Gilbert on Jan. 8, 1966.

She is survived by her husband, Loyd E. Gilbert, of 53 years; sister, Dorothy Hajek of La Grange; three brothers: Gene Bell and wife, Cheryl; James Bell and wife, Angie of Vidor, Texas; Charles Bell and wife, Faye of Washington; two nephews: Billy James and wife, Dianna; Robby Hajek and wife, Leanna; four nieces: Marissa (Bell) Woodall and husband, Carl; Amanda (Bell) Cobb and husband, Patrick; Tiffany and Bridget Bell; one great-nephew, Walter Cobb.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Donald Bell.
