Betty J. Bartek, 76, passed away on Nov. 29, 2019.

Betty was born on March 29, 1943 in La Grange to Eddie Zbranek and Justina Christina Chovanec Zbranek. She worked at Care Inn for 25 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange. Her children and grandchildren were her life. She sacrificed so their life would be better. She always helped others and put others needs before hers. The seventy six years we had were a blessing but everyone who loved her would love one more day with her.

Betty is survived by two sons; Duane Bartek of La Grange and Michael Bartek, also of La Grange; one daughter; Brigette Bertsch; four grandsons; Dillon Bartek, Ryan Bertsch and wife Sydney, Connor Bertsch and Derek Bertsch; one sister, Delores Wood and her husband Donald; two nieces, Gail Cain and husband Brandon and Jill Jacobson and husband Randy and one nephew, Edward Faldyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of friends is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019 from 12 to 2 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange, with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter in La Grange, the American Cancer Society or the charity of one’s choice.
