Holiday Hoops: Flatonia & RTC Boys Place Second At Tournaments; Fayetteville Hosts Big Tourney

After the Flatonia boys won their first five games at their home tournament last week, the Bulldogs’ streak was snapped by Waelder in the tournament title game Saturday night. Waelder won 68-53.

Waelder started the game off hot, hitting a three-pointer and an uncontested layup to jump out to a 5-0 lead against Flatonia. The Bulldogs, who are currently ranked #15 in the state of Texas, answered back with a 6-0 run which forced Waelder to call a timeout with under five minutes left in the first quarter. A break in action helped the Wildcats to regroup by finding their shooting stroke from three-point land.
