Local DAR Chapter Holds Christmas Luncheon

The Smith McMillan Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution held its annual Christmas luncheon at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Fritsch Auf Valley Country Club.

Following the morning social and raffle sales, Regent Lois Wink and Chaplain Kim Joost led the chapter in the DAR Ritual, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America led by Patti Allen.

Suzie Shoppa led the recitation of the American’s Creed and Sherry Hebert accompanied on her violin the singing of the National Anthem. The Pledge to the Texas Flag was led by Gina Minzenmeyer. In keeping with the tradition of dispensing business matters, Regent Wink turned it over to Recording Secretary Sherry Hebert to introduce guest speaker, the honorable Fayette County Judge Joe Weber.
