Hello, Twenties

Noise. It’s everywhere. Manmade noise, that is, in places where it was never intended to be.

We’ve grown accustomed to it, a gradual intrusion. To the extent it annoys us—in a coffee shop, say—we supplant it with a different artificial sound, music on earphones, podcasts and so on.
