Mayors Look Back at 2019 Accomplishments

Schulenburg Mayor Elaine Kocian reports on the significant events in 2019:

• Traveling Vietnam Wall Memorial, April 4-7: The first weekend of April was a special one for Schulenburg and the surrounding area as the traveling wall graced our community with its presence. Thousands of visitors showed up to the Sports Complex to view the memorial. The local Vietnam Veterans Chapter 870 worked vigorously to bring the wall to Schulenburg and donations from a myriad of businesses and other private donors, made it possible for the memorial to travel to Schulenburg. The driving force behind locals wanting the wall here was to honor those who served or lost their lives in Vietnam, and also so local students and residents who may never have a chance to make the trip to Washington D.C. could view this memorial and pay their respects here in their own backyard.
