The Bulldogs boys basketball team continued their hot start to the 2019-2020 season with a 59-50 victory over La Grange Tuesday in Flatonia.

“They did a good job of putting a lot of pressure on us to get the ball up the court and a lot of pressure in the half-court,” said La Grange head coach David Cooper. “That’s something we really hadn’t seen, so it was good for us to play this game. We got a lot better as the game went on.”

Flatonia head coach Chris Sodek was pleased with his team performing an up-tempo style. “I thought the game was played at a pace we like to play,” said Sodek. “We like to get up and down. La Grange handled the ball pretty well, but I thought we were able to get them to play fast. Whenever we do that, we tend to get more shots than the other team, which leads to more makes. So I thought having more possessions and getting them in the running game probably played to our benefit.”
