Liebscher

Cora Nell (Strickler) Liebscher, much beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020 at the age of 97.

“Tudy” as she was known to her family and friends was born on June 22, 1922 in Rockhouse to the late Neal and Lily (Krebs) Strickler.

She married the love of her life Weldon Liebscher on Jan. 1, 1943. They spent most of their married life in Houston until retiring to their home in Rutersville. Tudy and Weldon loved being a part of the Rutersville community. She kept a beautiful yard and provided a forever home for countless abandoned dogs. She kept Weldon in smiles canning quarts and quarts of pickles and sweet peaches. She was a super mom, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory; daughter, Lana Ashley and husband, John of Horseshoe Bay; grandson, Shaun and wife, Liz of Dripping Springs; granddaughter, Shallan and husband, Jacob of Buda; four great-grandchildren: Kaylin; Kade; Ryan and Leah; sisters-in-law: Pat Strickler of Houston; Joy Felscher of Brenham; and Alice Stepanek of La Grange; nieces: Donna Strickler of Houston and Tamaria Kaluza and husband, Paul of O’Quinn; nephews: Michael Strickler and wife, Katherine; and Mitchell Strickler and wife, Jan all of Houston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-law; husband; brother, Harley “Buck” Strickler; three sisters-in-law; six brothers-inlaw, and one nephew.

Visitation was held on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m.

Funeral Services were held at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020. Burial followed at Rutersville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gardenia E. Jansen Animal Shelter, 240 Svoboda Lane, La Grange, TX or the Rutersville Cemetery Association.
