Miertschin

Marvin Bernhart Miertschin, 89, of La Grange, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020.

Marvin was born in Houston on Sept. 16, 1930, the son of Ben Miertschin and Alma (Winkler) Sury.

Marvin married Estlean Schuler on Aug. 3, 1963 at Zion Lutheran Church in La Grange. Marvin worked in his father’s feed store, Farmers Feed & Produce for many years. He also worked for the City of La Grange in the Water Department for 19 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Estlean Miertschin; son, Wayne Miertschin of La Grange; daughter, Sherri Coufal and husband, Joe, of Fayetteville; sister, Ruby Tielsch, of La Grange; brother, Clinton “C.R.” Miertschin and wife, Amanda, of Dripping Springs; niece, Jennifer Calloway and husband, Richard; niece, Connie Pechal; niece, Laurie Mackey and husband, Eric; nephew, Bill Miertschin and wife, Heidi.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Ben Miertschin and Alma Sury; and infant brother, Weldon Miertschin.

Visitation was held on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Family received friends from 4 to 6 p.m. A prayer service followed at 6 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 800 N. Franklin St., La Grange, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020. Burial will follow at La Grange City Cemetery.
