Kyla Faith Drozd, 16, of La Grange, passed away on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020.

Kyla was born in La Grange on May 1, 2003, at Fayette Memorial Hospital in La Grange, the daughter of Jon Drozd and Lindsey Tillery.

Kyla was a junior at La Grange High School, she was a member of the varsity volleyball team and a member of the FFA. She spent most of her time with her lamb Waylon getting him ready for the big Fayette County Show in March for FFA; she was going to be showing rabbits as well. She joined majors to show chickens, horse judging and poultry judging at the Houston Livestock Show this March. Kyla also loved playing softball. She was an eight year Little League player, played select softball, played freshman and JV for the High School. She spent a lot of time helping out Eric coach Kinley in softball at home. Her sophomore year she ran for Fayette County Fair Queen and was crowned third runner up in 2018.

She devoted spending quality time with her siblings, family and friends. She loved playing and even taking naps with her dogs and cat. She strived for straight As hoping to become a vet one day because she loved animals. She had a dream of opening her own clinic with her sister Kinley one day.

She had a part time job since she was 14 so she could save up for her first car that she named Dolly (after her MiMi). Some of her hobbies were bowling, drawing, photography, reading, music, movies, board games, singing and dancing in the car. She loved taking shopping trips with her Grandmother “Ma”; especially to PetSmart.

Kyla enjoyed having her friends come over for sleepovers and even having them come join her at lunch daily at her aunt DeDe’s. Kyla loved daily devotionals that she would receive daily; her faith in the Lord was strong. Kyla had a heart of gold and loved to make people laugh and smile. Her beautiful smile and goofiness could brighten any ones day. Kyla was courageous, outgoing and so full of love and life.
