Fayette County Commissioners voted last Monday to consolidate several voting locations for the March 3 primary elections.

The local political parties run the primary elections. The County has 26 voting precincts. Setting up the voting locations and providing election workers in each one of the precincts creates a heavy burden for the county-level Republican and Democrat party organizations. For this year’s primaries, they asked the County for permission to consolidate the precinct voting locations.
