Delwin “Del” James Oeding, 95, of La Grange, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020.

Delwin was born in La Grange on Jan. 5, 1925, the son of Louis Julius and Alma Ella (Albrecht) Oeding.

Del served proudly in the United States Navy.

Del married Florence “Mickey” Trlicek in La Grange on Aug. 7, 1948. Del and Mickey were blessed with two children: Debbie and Kevin. While living in La Grange, Del opened his own photography studio called Del’s Studio.

Del later moved his family to California, where he worked as a machinist for a manufacturing company for most of his life. Del and Florence later moved back to La Grange to care for family.

Del was a licensed pilot and loved to fly, he enjoyed photography, bird watching, nature and working with his hands. He was a true craftsman and a gentle sole who will be missed. Rest in peace Dad.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Florence Oeding of La Grange; daughter, Debbie Oeding of Bastrop; son, Kevin Oeding of Peoria, Ariz.; and sister, Gladys Dippel of La Grange.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Wes Oeding.

Memorial Services will be held at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020. A private internment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
