Bruce D. Dopslauf, 65, of La Grange, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020.

Bruce was born in La Grange on June 28, 1954, the son of Donald Louis and Thelma Norma (Backen) Dopslauf.

Bruce married Noreen Jaster on July 12, 1975 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Warrenton.

Bruce worked as a rancher his entire life. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church, where he served as choir director for 33 years. He loved to play guitar and sing. He was involved with Emmaus and the Kiaros Prison Ministry. He was active in United Methodist Men and headed the BBQ committee. He was a past president of the State ICA and former chairmen of the board for National Bank & Trust.

In his spare time, he loved to fish and hunt. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Noreen Dopslauf of La Grange; mother, Thelma (Backen) Dopslauf of La Grange; daughter, Ann Kunkel and husband, Troy of Paige; son, Jacob Dopslauf and wife, Abby of Brenham; two sisters: Janice Alexander and husband, Marvin of Brenham; Donella Dopslauf-Cernosek and husband, Jack of La Grange; three grandchildren: Corban Dopslauf, Waylon Kunkel and Judah Dopslauf; mother-in-law, Iris Jaster of Oldenburg; brotherin-law, Gene Jaster and wife, Sherry of La Grange; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; sister and brotherin-law, Sharon and Mark Webb; and father-in-law, Edwin Jaster.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 14, 2020 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First United Methodist Church, 1214 N. Von Minden in La Grange, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020.
