Local Carmine Group Tours Israel and Jordan
Personals
A group from Carmine and the surrounding area recently toured Israel and Jordan. They flew to Tel Aviv on Jan. 22, arriving on Jan, 23.
To begin the trip, the flight from Houston to Newark, New Jersey was an honor flight, carrying the body of a US serviceman. As we arrived at the gate, the fire department sprayed water over the plane. An honor guard was standing at attention waiting to take the coffin from the plane. It was a very solemn and impressive event.
Once in Israel, the first stop was in Caesarea where we walked through the Harbor ruins, built by King Herod. The port city included a temple, amphitheater, aqueduct and much more.
Beautiful gardens are in Haifa, on the top of Mt. Carmel. Jews and Muslims get along well in this city, per our tour guide who lives in this town.
