Shallowater Too Much for Schulenburg in State Semis

A storybook season for the Schulenburg Lady Shorthorns basketball team has come to an end.

The Horns were defeated by the Shallowater Lady Mustangs Thursday afternoon in the state semifinals at the Alamodome with a final score of 61-26.

“We got here and did something that hadn’t been done in Schulenburg since 2003,” said Eddins. “They worked their tail ends off to get to this point. Didn’t finish the way we wanted to, but the countless hours in the gym, all the summer-league games and everything that these guys have put in has really paid off. Hopefully with what they’ve helped us start, it’s not the last time we’re here.”
