Burnside

Libby Horne Burnside passed away on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, at the age of 75 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Libby was born in McAlester, Okla. on Aug. 20, 1944. Upon graduation from McAlester High School, Libby attended college at Southern Methodist University (SMU). Libby married Wayne Burnside on July 19, 1969, and they made their home in Dallas. Libby dedicated herself to raising two children and teaching music.

Libby was preceded in death by her parents, Nobie and Keith Horne of McAlester, Okla.; uncle, Thaddeus and wife Delores Smalley of McAlester, Okla.; aunt, Jane and husband William N. Hargrave of Midland; and cousin, Lewis W. Ground of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Libby is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Wayne Burnside of Dallas; daughter, Brooke Burnside of Dallas; daughter, Paige Burnside Franks and son-in-law, Todd Franks, and two grandchildren, Farrah and Ford of Richardson; brother-in-law, Paul Burnside of La Grange; brother-in-law, Robert Burnside of Houston, and Amanda Burnside Manchee of Houston.

Funeral services were held last Friday, March 6, 2020, at Northridge Presbyterian Church in Dallas.
