Gartman

Ronald Eugene Gartman, 53 of La Grange, was born on Dec. 26, 1966 to Wilma and Harvey Gartman in Houston. He passed away on March 1, 2020 surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness. He was one of ten children. Ronald was a loving brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was that someone you could always count on. He spent the majority of his time working, going to football games (Go La Grange Leopards) and spending time with his friends and family. He was mostly proud to have been a grandpa.

Ronald is preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers, Albert and Lane Lowery, his two sisters, Linda Lowery and Carolyn O’Bannion and his niece, Destinee Randel.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sheryl Gartman of La Grange; his son, Arron Gartman and wife, Wendie of Red Rock; his daughter, Amber Farquhar and husband, Charles of Fayetteville; Johnathan Zapalac and fiance, Destiny of La Grange; his four grandchildren, Gunner Gartman (age four), Gage Zapalac (age three), Whitley Farquhar (age three) and Grayson Gartman (age two); his in-laws, Eddie Barta and wife, Gloria of Flatonia; his two brothers, Richard Gartman and wife, Crystal of Smithville and Robert Gartman and wife, Christie of Smithville; his three sisters, Cindy Diaz and husband, John of San Leon, Jean Hoppes and husband, Bill of Cleveland, and Barbara Carter and husband, Bruce of Cypress; along with numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

The family has set up a memorial account at Fayetteville Bank for anyone who would like to make a donation or help with funeral expenses.

There will also be a Celebration of Life on March 21, 2020 at noon on the Fayette County Fairgrounds at the EH Kitchen in La Grange. The family would love for anyone who knew Ronald to come help celebrate his life. Call for all your monumen
