Agnes Marie (Kana) Niesner, 93, of La Grange, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2020.

Agnes was born in Hostyn on Nov. 27, 1926, to Frank and Emilie (Cernoch) Kana.

Agnes married Benjamin Niesner on April 24, 1946, and they were married for 50 years. During their 50 years together, they had four children: Darlene, Diane, Leonard and Sandy.

Agnes was a homemaker who loved gardening and flowers, baking kolaches, playing dominoes and dancing. She was a great cook and loved canning a variety of fruits and vegetables. She enjoyed spending time with her nine grandchildren. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Schulenburg.

She is survived by two daughters: Darlene Borrello and husband, Bill of Nacogdoches; Sandy Zoch and husband Barry of Winchester; brothers, Willie Kana, and wife, Dorothy of La Grange; Frank Kana of Winchester; sister, Rosie Hall of La Grange; brother-in-law, Franklin Niesner of Victoria; sister-inlaw, Dorothy La Lanne of San Antonio; eight grandchildren: Stephanie Williams; Michael, Aaron and Clinton Jahn; Boyd, Sean and Shane Murphy; Missy Zoch; 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, special friend, Bernard Perrard of Weimar, and numerous other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Emilie Kana; husband, Ben Niesner; daughter, Diane Jahn and husband, Larry; son, Leonard Niesner; brother, Johnny Kana and wife, Francis; brother, Stanley Kana and wife Lillian; grandson, Shannon Jahn; sisterin-law, Emily Kana; brother-inlaw, AF Hall; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe and Adela Niesner, Irvin and Adela Roitsch, Robert and Vera Niesner, Martin and Pat Neisner, Ivan and Edna Antosh, Frank and Hilda Mazoch, Ivan and Ella Dusek, Andy and Ida Mae Parola, Marilyn Niesner, Joe La Lanne; and son-in-law, Pat Murphy.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations.

Private graveside services will be held.

A memorial service will be held at a later date following the COVID-19 crisis.
