Lambert Joseph Lidiak, 86, of La Grange, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 28, 2020.

Lambert was born on Dec. 23, 1933, to Emma Mary (Dolezal) and Paul Albert Lidiak in La Grange, where he lived his entire life. Lambert attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and then graduated from La Grange High School in 1950. After graduation, he worked for Brasher Motor Company in La Grange. In 1954, he was drafted into the military and spent two years at Camp Schimmelpfennig in Sendi City, Japan. Following his release from duty, he went to work for Brasher Motor Company in Weimar. In 1956, he accepted a job with Fayette Electric Coop and worked there until his retirement on Jan. 5, 1999.

He married Doris Ann Synnott on Sept. 19, 1960, at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in Hostyn.

During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, trapping and working for First Choice Processing. He was an avid gardener which included raising, harvesting and shelling pecans. He also enjoyed woodworking, playing dominos, babysitting his grandchildren and attending their ballgames and music events.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church since 1960, a member of Sacred Heart Holy Name Society, K.J.T. and K.J.Z.T. He was a member of La Grange Volunteer Fire Dept. since November 1964 and served as Captain of Company No. 3 and as Assistant Chaplain.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris; two daughters: Sharon Chovanec and her husband, Michael of La Grange; Sandra Weyand and her husband, David of La Grange; four grandchildren: Steven Gilbreath and his wife, Carolina of La Grange; Collin Weyand and his wife, Marikate of Houston; Jordan Weyand of Houston and Abbey Weyand of La Grange; two great-grandchildren, Zaylee Gilbreath and Aryanna Gilbreath; sisters-in-law: Mary Jo Lidiak, Sue Schaefer and JoAnn Prause; brothers-in-law: Glenn Synnott and wife, Charlotte and Weldon Synnott along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, one brother: Leon Lidiak, two brothers-inlaw; Milton Synnott and Tommy Synnott and one sister-in-law, Cindy Synnott.

In abundance of caution due to the recent heath issues, and in accordance with the CDC and local County Judge recommendations, the family has requested a private family funeral service and burial.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 from 12 to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the La Grange Volunteer Fire Dept., 244 N. Franklin St., La Grange, TX 78945; Sacred Heart Holy Name Society, P. O. Box 548 La Grange Texas, 78945; Hospice Brazos Valley 1048 N. Jefferson St., La Grange, Texas 78945; or to a charity of one’s choice.
