County Urges Businesses to Require Employees to Wear Masks
Fayette County Office of Emergency Management is asking businesses in the County to require their employees to wear face masks in an effort to stem the spread of the COVID-19 virus
"We are asking that you encourage or require your employees to wear a mask or alternative facial covering at all times while interacting with the public," said County Emergency Management Chief Craig Moreau. "Wearing a mask not only delivers the right message to your valuable customers, it could save their life.
"We know that COVID-19 and other pathogens can travel through droplets and secretions. Wearing a mask can reduce distance of the contagious zone considerably. It is important for all establishments to follow the federal suggestions on mask usage, but this is especially important for food vendors, medicine vendors and any establishment that is frequented by patrons over the age of 65 or with chronic medical conditions.
"Thank you all for your continued efforts to keep our community safe and healthy."
